Work.

 I'm still plugging away at the fic.  I have a pretty neat system worked out through Pages in which I can organize my plot, ideas, etc. pretty spiffily.

Because of work, I haven't been able to devote much time to working on this thing, though it never strays too far from my mind.  And though I really should have worked on job-stuff this evening, I decided to devote several hours to the fic instead.  I have an internal deadline for myself (the 15th) that I want to meet to allow enough time to work with a beta.  

I'm sure it takes other people a fraction of the time I'm taking, but I just cannot work on this thing as linear as I know others do.  Everything is coming in bits and pieces and I make sure to write everything down and then organize it later.  That's what tonight was about -- I had a lot of ideas that were scattered and I finally copied and pasted them in the right order.

I predicted quite awhile ago how long the finished product was going to be, and I think I'm going to be pretty close to it.  If that's the case, I've got 3/4 of the words written, though again, that means nothing.  A lot of what's written is paraphrased with place markers scattered here and there on sections I still need to flesh out. 

Whew.  I think I can make it...
